Variegated Dwarf Umbrella Tree (Schefflera ‘Madame De Smet’)
Styled in Bower Pot Large
Schefflera ‘Madame De Smet’ is a small compact tree growing to an approximate height of 2 metres and width of 1 metre. This attractive plant has distinctive glossy green/gold variegated leaves.
Schefflera, which is native to Australia and Java, has more varieties of green than variegated, more often than not having slightly variegated pigmentation. The Schefflera Arboricola found natively in Taiwan is the commonly variegated one. Even though both plants are quite common to purchase, and have special specimens like the Compacta and the Gold Capella, it is the variegated ones that are more in demand.

Choose a position that offers good light without direct sunlight if you want the best results, in time this will result in a neat bushy plant that will grow reasonably straight up and become tall and "tree" like.
Light. The Umbrella Plant loves to be growing in moist soil for really good growth to occur, but it will certainly accept some under watering. So if you forget to water it for a week or two after the soil last dried out, it should forgive you.
*Please note that due to the bulky and heaviness of the Dwarf Umbrella Tree, this plant can only be delivered within metro Melbourne or purchased in-store. Not suitable for shipping.
