Kalamata Olive Tree (Olea Europaea)

The Olive is an attractive evergreen tree that originates from the Mediterranean region. The Kalamata are often grown for their striking green and black olives.

It is a common feature plant in gardens and landscapes. As an indoor plant, the Olive showcases great textures and sculptural looks. They work particularly well in pots on balconies, patios and verandahs.

Size (Can grow to)

If potted, growth will slow. If planted in the ground outside then the Olive can become a 5-6 meter shrubby tree. When it matures outdoor over many years, it can grow up to 15 meters. 

Position

The Olive grow well in a warm sunny position indoors, and full sun outdoors. They need full sun and six to eight hours of bright, direct sunlight to survive. 

Watering

Water with moderate amounts of water during the warmer months and only when you notice the soil starting to dry in the colder months.
