The Brazilian Edelweiss is a remarkable house plant and is easy to grow. The fuzzy foliage sprouts in spring and is joined by bright orange-red tubular blooms. When the blooms finish the foliage remains and grows larger before dying back for winter dormancy.
Sinningia grow from tubers, so there is seasonality to them. When the plant is actively growing, keep it lightly moist. When the foliage dies back (late Autumn / early Winter), just mist the soil regularly to keep the tubers from drying out too much. Start your normal watering when new leaves start to show in early Spring mid summer - flowers generally appear in Summer.

They grow well in a warm sunny position but don't like the scorching sun. Even though the Sinningia leucotricha is drought tolerant they do prefer humid tropical conditions.
Water with moderate amounts of water during the warmer months and only when you notice the soil starting to dry in the colder months. Despite the leaves dying off in winter the soil will still need a light mist every few weeks or so.
